Age Group

Girls and Boys between the ages of 9 – 14 (Age as of December 31, 2012)

Remember it is the age they will be as of December 31, they might be 8 at the time of your local meet but they will turn 9 before the December 31 date they can
compete at your local meet. Also, watch the other end of the age range they might be 14 at the time of your local meet but if they turn 15 before December 31 they cannot compete at your local meet.

• Top three qualifiers in each event both boys and girls advance to state on June 22 & 23 in Hutchinson, Kansas.
  
  
• Participants can enter a maximum of one running and two field events or one field and two running events. They must compete in their age group in their respective male/female division.
  
  
• Birth Certificates must be checked at the local meet, we will not check birth certificates at the state meet.
  
  
• Starting blocks cannot be used and No shoes with spikes or shoes designed for spikes are allowed in any race. In field events, any shoes designed for turf surface sports (natural or artificial) are not allowed (e.g. football/soccer shoes).
  
  
• Relay Teams – All runners must be in the same age group. In addition the 9/10 & 11/12 age groups will not advance to the National Finals, you have the option to run these age groups at your local meet and it will not count against them as a running event. We will still run these races at the state meet.
