Standing JumpJohnson County Meet Information

The meet will use a drop-in format. Participants will compete in their events shortly after checking in at the bullpen. A race will be held as soon as there are three or more participant to a heat. A participant may compete against different ages or gender in a heat.

**NOTE:  With the drop in format; all established relay teams will advance to the state meet. No relay races will be held at the local meet. 
                  The team must be established with four runners and registered by April 24 for the team to compete at State.

Event 7 1600 Meter Run Ages 13-14 (10 a.m. and noon starts)

Official local results will be available May 4.

Rules

  1. No shoe designated for spikes will be allowed.  Any violation of this rule will cause disqualification of the participant.  Shoes must be worn for an athlete to be allowed to compete.
  2. Each participant is responsible for promptly reporting for each event that they have entered.
  3. Starting blocks are not permitted.
  4. Each participant will be allowed one (1) false start before being disqualified.
  5. When races are run in lanes, each competitor shall keep his/her position in the course during the entire race.  A competitor who, without being fouled and while running around a curve, gains and advantage by stepping on or over the inside lane line may be disqualified.
  6. If a race involving a curve or where lanes are not specified, a runner may change lanes of the track when he/she is one full running stride in advance of the runner whose path is crossed.
  7. If any runner is called for interference, he/she will be disqualified.
  8. No person (coach or parent included) shall aid a competitor by running with, pacing, or taking a position along the track for the purpose of coaching.  If aiding does occur, the competitor will be disqualified.
  9. In field events, each participant is allowed three attempts.
  10. In running events, a participant gets only one attempt per event.
